The Largest Waterbodies Cleanup in Ghana

Restoring Ghana's Rivers,
Reviving Communities

Implementing sustainable and advanced ecological rehabilitation—realigning natural watercourses, removing hazardous toxins, and eliminating sediment pollution caused by illegal mining (Galamsey) operations.

The Crisis

Ghana’s rivers, once lifelines for communities, agriculture, and industry, are now drowning in pollution. Unregulated illegal mining (galamsey), industrial waste, and unchecked siltation have turned once-thriving water bodies into toxic hazards.

Ghana’s rivers and water bodies are under severe threat from illegal mining (galamsey), industrial waste, and deforestation. What were once clean, life-sustaining waterways are now choked with silt, mercury, and toxic chemicals.

Without intervention, water scarcity, desertification, and ecological collapse will continue to spread, jeopardizing the future of Ghana’s natural resources.

The destruction of Ghana’s rivers is not just an environmental disaster—it’s an economic crisis affecting millions.

For Ghana’s economy to thrive, healthy waterways are essential—providing irrigation for farmers, fish stocks for local markets, and clean water for industries.

Polluted rivers don’t just harm the environment—they are a silent killer for human health. Toxic metals, bacteria, and industrial waste contaminate drinking water, causing severe health crises.

Without clean water, communities face disease outbreaks, chronic illnesses, and a weakened healthcare system.
